Hello Friends!
As you may recall, I just got back from my long lost Covid honeymoon, and it was incredible! We went to Curacao and enjoyed the most beautiful beaches and spectacular drinks in the world! We also ran into a huge amount of wildlife that I thought would be fun to share (turns out, if you leave Brianna alone for 5 minutes, she’s gonna make friends with something)
Underwater Cats
This is Herby VIII, a species of Cat I believe on the island is referred to as the “Oh lawd, he comin!” He is still an adolescent and will grow to be over 800lbs. I am told he will never stop looking like an idiot.
We found this Upside-down Jelly-cat in the brackish waters of a Mangrove Forest while kayaking. His name is Jacob and he is unproblematic.
You can see here a herd of Ocean Lemon Panthers, who are notable for giving live birth, having long, needle like teeth, and generally being very good, hanging out in shallow water and not bothering anyone. So pretty.
Unusual Land Cats
Most common of all cats on Curacao is the Green Scaley Cat, also known as the “YOU WOT MATE?!” Known to be mean tempered, these hellspawn often nod their heads and do pushups to establish dominance and are best kept at a decent length, lest they smack you with that long thin tale.
The Flappy Flappy Cat likes to guard its eggs in the greenery and rarely tolerates being spotted, but we were able to catch a glimpse of this one from just a few feet away! #blessed
Finally, we have the Tall Pink Honker Cat, who is all about flexing all over you. It’s beautiful pink fur and flexible, agile legs lure you in before its signature loud honk clues you in on who’s boss (hint, it’s not you). Stunning, but don’t be fooled, it, like all cats, is inherently kind of a jerk.
All jokes aside,
This vacation was amazing, but I’m so happy to be back and working on comics! Lots of news coming up for next month (and don’t worry, we did actually meet some cats on the island and we’ll be introducing you to them in the next proper newsletter).
That’s all for now!
